Harry is coming to the end of 10 years service as an Officer in the British Army; after spending a lot of time travelling the world with the military he decided he needed to grow some roots back in the UK.
Fitness and health is an integral part of the military lifestyle, but it's a common misconception that everyone in the Army is fit and healthy! Having spent years learning and practicing different training methods, some successful and some unsuccessful, he decided to set up Resurgent Fitness as a way to share that experience. A decade of working with soldiers and Officers alike to improve their fitness and overall health, from weight loss to improved sporting performance, Harry has a deep and personal understanding of the challenges that individuals face trying to achieve their goals. Training teams for fitness events, whilst also maintaining their core military fitness, helps to show how we can achieve real fitness, not just focusing on aesthetics.
Time spent in the Arctic and Antarctic Circles, the deserts of Africa and conflict zones in the Middle East, means there aren't many places he hasn't trained and tried to maintain his fitness. A couple of very significant injuries throughout the last decade have also given him a real appreciation of how demotivating it can be when you can't achieve what you want to!
It hasn't always been easy, and there are many times that he's found himself in a rut. It's about how we get ourselves out of it that's important.
What he noticed, more than anything, was the thing that most often keeps us from reaching our full potential is the difficulty in motivating ourselves and the lack of accountability when we train. It's so easy to put it off when there's nothing and no-one to give us a nudge! Speaking to friends and family at home, this seemed to be the biggest issue that people faced, and once the gap in training became too long, the fear of the gym set back in. We've all been there, it's normal!

When you add in the functionality of the app it becomes a really powerful training tool that you can keep coming back to. The built-in calendar auto-populates your chosen training and nutrition programme, hopefully we can give you that nudge at the end of a long day in the office that means you hit the gym for an hour (instead of scrolling through Instagram in the kitchen...). You can log your workouts, including the weights you used and reps you managed, meaning that you can see it next time and maybe squeeze out another couple or add a bit more weight. Sync with MyFitnessPal, Apple Health, Fitbit and others for even deeper insights on your training, and log private progress photos and body measurements so you can see just how far you've come!
The programmes are progressive, starting with slightly fewer workouts per week as you get back into it. They increase slowly as you go, to ensure you don't over-do it at the beginning!
This isn't for beginners, and it isn't face to face training; we deliver structure and accountability to you through our app, which helps you train and eat for your goals. By using an app we not only make it cheaper for you, but also allow you to work around your busy schedule. Life gets in the way sometimes and we just have to deal with it. This is all about you and how we can give you a helping hand as you get re-started taking back control of your health.
If you want something more personalised, then we offer a limited amount of completely individual 12 week programmes that are tailored to you and delivered through the app, with personal check-ins, modifications and direct support from us any time!
