A 12-week continuous training and nutrition plan, including example meals from the DFAC, that you can log straight into the app.
Log all of your weights, sets, reps, progress photos, bodyweight and more inside the app; you'll get graphs showing your progress, videos of how to perform each exercise, a history of what you've lifted and when in each workout to help you progressively overload and increase your strength. You can even switch out exercises within the app suing the automated feature to offer different options which target the same muscles. Useful if you don't like a certain exercise, struggle to hit the correct form, or it's just busy in the gym. Each block has example nutrition of how/what to eat in the DFAC/Cookhouse/Galley when you're away, you can just tick it off as you go to make sure you get the right nutrition in each day. Month 1:
- Training: HIIT and 2 x Upper/Lower weights splits each week for strength and conditioning. Focusing on building up your strength and size so that you can lift heavier for longer in the following sections. This is also where you can ensure your technique is on point, using the time to improve your lifts to avoid injury.
- Nutrition: BIG EATING to build that core foundation of strength going forwards. Op MASSIVE doesn't work without the DFAC....
Month 2:
- Training: Hypertrophy (size) training, using that new-found strength to pack on some lean gains with a Push/Pull/Legs format.
- Nutrition: Bringing the calories down slightly to burn off a little of the fluff that might be covering those gains, but still eating big as you'll have put on some serious size already!
Month 3:
- Training: Hight-Intensity weight training, using supersets to train agonist and antagonist muscle groups in rotation (ie one set of chest, straight into one set of back, short rest, go again). This is a serious grizz but after two months of hard training you'll be smashing this out the (tank) park!
- Nutrition: Bringing the calories down again, slightly, to shred off that last bit of fluff before heading home on RnR. Everyone wants to look good with their top off...
Post-RnR:
Rinse and repeat.
Result:
3 very different styles of training used, learning about nutrition the whole time. This should mean that you go back to work after tour knowing significantly more about training, eating, resting, and able to stay fit all year round without having to stress. And also a great rig.
These programmes are designed for use in deployed gyms around the world. We've liaised with people all over the globe to ensure that most of the exercises here can be done in any facility.
- FIRIC/BFSAI: In my opinion, the best gym going. Tons of equipment, and so much room for activities!
- CYPRUS: Beaut gym, and you can get a tan at the same time....
- SHADER: This plan was originally designed for friends going on OCE to Iraq, and ended up building this programme for a full deploying Coy!
- CABRIT: There's a lot to complain about on CABRIT, but the gym isn't it! Having designed the original CABRIT(P) gym myself on ROTO 1/2 (and spent lots of Op money that we apparently weren't allowed to use...) this plan is perfect for Estonia or Poland.
- Others: If your unit is heading somewhere else, get in touch and we can adjust the programme to reflect the equipment you have available in theatre.

Going on tour is often the best time to get back on the fitness wagon. The BS factor of life in camp is reduced, the RSM doesn't need a work party every ten minutes, you don't have to spend your life on JAMES, and the Cpl's Mess Dine-Out doesn't need organising. It's mega.
HOWEVER, the most common mistake (that you see on EVERY tour!) is people heading into the gym every day with no structure, nutrition plan or idea of how to progressively overload. What's the point in putting in all that effort if you're not maximising your output? Even worse, you're more likely to get injured and then put yourself out of action in the gym, or operationally. That could mean being flown home and missing out on that sweet tour bonus and LSA....
If you include structured training, learn how to progressively overload your muscles for growth and when to take rest, as well as understanding how much you need to be eating, THAT is when you will achieve your goals.
Build your strength, put on lean muscle, look epic naked when you get home.
Initially this will only be offered to individuals and units deploying on tour: This is our way of trying to help you get here you want to be for half the normal (civvie) price of this plan. Once you've got this plan in your app, it's yours forever - keep using it when you get back to the UK to maintain that tour rig all year round!
You'll need an internet connection to access the plan, so if the gym doesn't have wi-fi just make sure you open the app in the block and then press save when you get back - it makes no difference to your workout!
This plan was originally devised for an OCE deployment to SHADER, but quickly became a Coy-level construct for those that wanted it. If your unit/sub-unit is deploying then we can make an individual plan just for you - if you want to add a few structured sessions of your own (ie. OC's PT on a Friday, a Coy/Sqn competition on a Saturday etc) then get in touch and we can fully tailor the plan to include rest-days before/after certain events and add your tailored sessions into the plan. You can get in touch with us any time to alter the plan or assign individual programmes to a certain person should they need it!
